1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing and using MAS Aviation LLC DBA Grease Pilot ("Service", "we", "us", or "our"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, please do not use our Service.
2. Description of Service
Grease Pilot provides an online platform for aircraft mechanic students to track on-the-job training (OJT) experience, document work hours, and access resources related to obtaining FAA A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certification.
3. Subscription and Payment
3.1 Subscription Fee
Access to the Service requires a monthly subscription fee, billed monthly on a recurring basis. Current pricing is available on our pricing page.
3.2 Payment Processing
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your payment method for all subscription fees.
3.3 Automatic Renewal
Your subscription will automatically renew each month unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current subscription fee.
3.4 Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account page or by emailing office@greasepilot.com. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. Because access to all subscribed services is granted immediately upon payment, no refunds are provided for subscription-based products.
3.5 Price Changes & Price Lock Guarantee
Subscribers with a continuously active account are entitled to a price lock guarantee — the subscription rate in effect at the time of enrollment will be honored for as long as the account remains in active standing. This guarantee extends through a 30-day reactivation window: if a subscription enters a pending, on-hold, or cancelled state, the subscriber may reactivate within 30 days of that status change and the original locked rate will be reinstated.
We reserve the right to change subscription fees with 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price. Any such price change will not apply to subscribers whose accounts qualify for the price lock guarantee as described above.
4. User Accounts
4.1 Account Creation
You must create an account to use our Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
4.3 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
4.4 Administrator Account Access
You acknowledge and agree that authorized Grease Pilot administrators may access your account to improve the user experience or for troubleshooting purposes. Any such access is logged internally and is strictly limited to view-only activity — administrators cannot modify your account data, credentials, or subscription while accessing your account in this manner.
5. Educational Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: Grease Pilot is an educational tracking and documentation tool. We do not:
- Guarantee FAA certification or licensure
- Provide official FAA-approved training
- Replace required FAA examinations or evaluations
- Guarantee employment as an aircraft mechanic
- Guarantee paid or unpaid mechanic apprenticeship positions
- Certify that your documented hours meet FAA requirements
Users are responsible for ensuring their training and documentation comply with all FAA regulations and requirements.
6. Disclaimer of Information; Opinion Only
IMPORTANT: All information, content, materials, and resources provided through the Service — whether publicly accessible or restricted to registered members — represents the opinions and interpretations of Grease Pilot and its contributors. This information:
- Is provided for general informational and educational purposes only
- Does not constitute professional, legal, regulatory, or technical advice
- Should not be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with qualified professionals, FAA officials, or other appropriate authorities
- May contain errors, omissions, or outdated information
MAS Aviation LLC DBA Grease Pilot expressly disclaims any and all liability arising from your use of or reliance on any information provided through the Service. You acknowledge and agree that any decisions or actions you take based on information obtained from the Service are made at your own risk, and Grease Pilot shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, or consequences resulting from such reliance.
You are solely responsible for independently verifying all information with the appropriate regulatory authorities, certified professionals, or other qualified sources before making any decisions related to aircraft maintenance, FAA certification, or your career.
7. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Provide accurate information about your training and experience
- Not misrepresent your qualifications or experience
- Not share your account with others
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Verify all information with appropriate FAA authorities
8. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by Grease Pilot and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
9. User-Generated Content
9.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (work experience records, training documentation, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a license to use, store, and display that content as necessary to provide the Service.
9.2 Record Preservation and Backup
"Records" in this section means training records and related documentation — including work-experience entries, logged hours, supervisor signatures, verification letters, uploaded images and documents, and any other data you submit to or that is generated by the Service.
For Students
- Your records are stored under your student account, identified by the email address you used at sign-up. For as long as your account exists, your records remain stored with the Service.
- Canceling your subscription does not delete your records. After cancellation you may still sign in to view and download your existing records — but creating new records requires an active subscription.
- If your subscription ends or a payment fails, your supervisor connection is disconnected. Your records — including everything already signed — are retained and remain viewable and downloadable. Reconnecting with a supervisor requires an active subscription and an open seat on their roster.
- Deleting your account permanently deletes all records stored under it, and they cannot be recovered. Download everything you need before deleting your account.
For A&P Supervisors
- Records you sign are your records too. Your signature makes you a party to each record: signed records are stored with the student's account as part of their OJT portfolio and with your supervisor account as records you have signed.
- Canceling a paid subscription does not delete your records. You keep your supervisor account and may continue to view and download everything you have signed. At the end of your paid billing period your account moves to the free plan, which supports one connected OJT student — during cancellation you choose which student to keep, and your other student connections are disconnected when the paid period ends. You can continue supervising and signing for your remaining connected student; reconnecting additional students requires an active plan with available seats.
- Deleting your supervisor account permanently ends your records and your access to them, and they cannot be recovered for you. The student's copy remains part of their portfolio. Download everything you need for your own files before deleting your account.
All Users — Data Loss and Backup
- We store and process data using reputable third-party service providers. Despite reasonable safeguards, no system is immune to cyberattacks, security breaches, or other events beyond our reasonable control. By using the Service, students and A&P supervisors agree, to the maximum extent permitted by law, not to hold Grease Pilot responsible for the loss of records caused by such incidents (see Sections 10 and 13).
- We strongly recommend periodically downloading your records using the download tools provided in the Service, so you always hold your own backup copy in addition to our storage.
9.3 Use of Content for Marketing and Improvement
By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute content you submit — including training records, platform activity, images, and general usage patterns — for marketing, analytics, and service improvement purposes. You retain all copyright and ownership rights to your original content. We may reference general platform statistics (such as total training hours logged or number of active users) in marketing materials without restriction.
Images and content that do not reveal personal identity — such as photographs of tools, equipment, aircraft components, or work environments where no individual is identifiable — may be used in marketing materials (including social media, advertisements, and promotional content) under the license granted above, without requiring additional consent.
For content that identifies or could identify an individual — including your name, likeness, face, testimonials, success stories, or direct quotes — we will obtain your explicit written consent before use in marketing materials. Consent for identifiable use is separate from your agreement to these Terms and will be requested on a case-by-case basis. You may withdraw such consent at any time by contacting us at office@greasepilot.com; withdrawal will not affect materials already published prior to the request. You may also opt out of marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not responsible for FAA decisions regarding your certification or licensure
- MAS Aviation LLC DBA Grease Pilot is not responsible for any losses, damages, or consequences resulting from failing FAA written examinations, oral examinations, or practical tests, regardless of whether you used our Service to prepare for such tests
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Grease Pilot from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
